Garden of Light

Posted on Thursday, November 13, 2014

Saturday 15 November, 4pm-8pm, is our Garden of Light event at Fred Roche Gardens, Milton Keynes.

It’s a FREE community event starting with a lantern parade from The Hub:MK and walking to Fred Roche Gardens where the main event is taking place.

During the lantern parade Wolverton Samba Band will be playing music along the route and stilt walker Random Mike leading the parade in a glowing costume. Lanterns made by local community groups will light up the streets, so come and join in the parade and carry a lantern!

At Fred Roche Gardens there will be live music by African drumming group Moribayassa, as well as MKFM DJing and Random Mike performing glow poi around the grounds.

Talented face painter Sophia Ghory will be offering UV face painting to the public for FREE, so come and get your face painted and then go in our UV marquee to illuminate the beautiful designs. There will also be UV balloon modelling and light toys for children.

The grand finale is a spectacular fire performance by Random Mike from 7pm. So wrap up warm and come along to enjoy the illuminated surroundings and amazing performances!
